My Architecture

My Works

in the line of Architecture since after High School. . . . .

I wouldn’t likely be there yet, but i do however have some work that i would like to share since i had enrolled into Architecture years back and set my life for. What i tend to say about my works, is that i do this because i want to do so; not because people tell me to. At times i am happy for what i have done though i am judged badly for them- but well life still goes on . . . . .

This serves as an Online Portfolio of the works i have done through-out the years and i do hope i will update more as i progress so that at the least, we all can contribute to each other for all to gain from the influx of opinions and ideas to allow a constant flow of development in Design.

A very subjective field in human society where the Arts, Culture and Science are one; a love of Ideas, a beauty that only an architect can imagine. I sense the future, the mass judge the idea, the public feels the creation.

What i thought then was nothing impressive, Now i think it was !

The site like many other cities around the world has a major heart of development and a history that shaped it, yet this site has no apparent distinctive perception that could be drawn out due to an array of diversity, from its history, culture and development-they were all jumbled. The site is sum up through a series of collages about the site that focused on the negative and the positive, good – bad. The site exists as one collage that has no specific determination of its essence because it is mix, ambiguous or perhaps boxy. Nothing is known to be precise thus making it having a rather romantic sense.
The development of the context as understood by the ambiguity of the site simply states that it is about something that needs a certain language that would speak of an organized path-hood, judging from the developments around the site and at Kuala Lumpur as a whole, new development and perhaps many the old ones have address the site using a strict order that was impose to the site ie: terrace houses, shop lots, high-rises blocks etc. This is counter contextual but it actually is a context sunken into the site. This is from the fact that because it is in such dire state of clutter it simply needed a new statement to bring about the balance from the both opposite side of the fields. Take for example New York as a whole, its perhaps perfect in grids and most of the buildings come from an era where modernist developed and employ their ideas then, today: these forms are seldom used but rather a more dynamic form or a sharper edgier method are used to address the site, it speaks of a loud approach that just fitted itself to the site.
As seen from heritage row, it’s not much of such a celebrated site and perhaps not the best looking one other than the night life. If it wasn’t because of the site’s many clubs that were there to protect the old heritage building and was a new form or conservation; the site would otherwise be an ugly filth. Building in a site like so where the entire site itself is about so contradicting to every element in its surrounding simply is nothing more common sense than just impose the monochromatic grids like the ones laid on the development of NY. It is not about redeveloping the site or reorganizing it, it’s just a statement and visual effect from the site that is imposed by the surrounding thus creating a context of a certain conflict. It is in the opposite is the similarity- Pablo Picasso
The site is a fraction of a vast land that is underused, and as of today it’s a wasted unorganized car park for the vicinity offices or commercial areas. The site has a rather centric focal because of this absent of development within it, thus creating a hole amongst the high-rises around it, this growth around the site makes it a view point and a rather centric point because many notice the space: the wasted space. By having a new development and in this case a housing unit at the side of the site doesn’t do any more good than just having the land as it is. It will in-evidently be a focal and in many cases, this plot of land would otherwise be turned into a park if it was in Singapore or in London. This site posed a massive challenge to address to the utterly un-privatize condition of the site and with the fact that it is actually behind the row of the shops of clubs and restaurants simply makes it’s a back alley squatter at anyway it is.
Using the unfamiliarity of the site, and imposing a new grid form of it, is something that can minimize this negativity because it hollow and at times would look invisible. Only units, that are alternated are insight, this are in forms of boxes or rectangular shaped because they oppose the site thus allowing it to be noticed or unnoticed depending to the people. This sort of form is not relating to all, as nothing could be related to everyone; but it simply speaks of a shrewd ideal, like the many developers are.
The idea about a collage living is nothing about too literal as having a jumble up clutter of a certain abstract that speak of some dynamic or perceptive approach to personify ideas that are too colorful. It’s just something simple: life is like black and white lines, with some patches of color in between them- Piet Mondrian.
In the juxtaposition of the site, an contrasting element: balances this effect and by just extending the site contours of the different levels of the site ground, imposing grid terraces that varied in height are not only creating usable spaces for interactive and creative interpretation of the site at the users own call, but also creating a context more on land; a continuality of land ground from the parking to the roads, the clubs and to the back roads.  The idea to turn the whole ground level into a park for the use of the public is about trying to create a communal sense to not only the residence but also the general public, because green lungs are indeed lacking and by having this patch would help lock the flow of the people and the site to context.
The design here is not about trying too hard to be close to, but speaks of an approach that taps into the vagueness. It speaks of context by community appreciation, use, owner understandings – like and above all, temporary like cities all over. It is nothing like Tadao Ando where a masculine block is a statement, this is about steel, connections, suspensions, openness and flexibility of humanity, it is a structuralize work bringing back the simple understanding of modernism back to the 20th century.
